AAMC has partnered with Hail.com to revolutionise how hail damage assessment is completed in the insurance sector.
We’re passionate about harnessing digital innovations to maximise how we deliver our service and the financial impact these services have on insurers.
This partnership will have a massive impact on the insurance industry across the Asia Pacific region in the coming years. We’re so excited to be a part of these innovations and to speed up how these claims are managed.
The Challenge: Traditional Hail Damage Assessment
For a long time, hail damage claims have been a long process.
We’ve required on-site estimators and assessors who are based in the same region as our end customers. The process of finding these professionals and booking these assessments has resulted in lengthy delays and even lengthier processing times for these claims.
Particularly off the back of large-scale weather events and peak storm season, the delays created painful backlogs for insurers and a worse experience for their customers.
Not only that but with human-monitored assessments comes opinion and subsequent human error. This resulted in inconsistencies in damage assessments.
Australia and the Asia Pacific have experienced more and more weather events resulting in hail in recent years. It means this exciting advancement has come at the perfect time.
The Solution: Advanced 3D Scanning Technology by Hail.com
Hail.com has created advanced 3D scanning technology to assess vehicles damaged by hail.
Cars are booked to attend Hail.com’s Catastrophe Centre, where they can then take their cars through the scanners. There is a scanner and light tunnel — customers will be instructed to drive through these.
A dent repair technician will perform an initial inspection to book a repair date for the customer as they pull into the tunnel. The scanner will then do the heavy lifting in terms of identifying every piece of damage and scoping the repairs.
This initial inspection and assessment are where the process is becoming truly expedited. Not only are these assessments far more efficient, but they remove human error in the damage estimation process.
The Benefits for Insurers
Not only do these new scanners and their advanced technology mean quicker, easier repairs for the end customer, but they offer a range of benefits for insurers.
Reduced Wait Times
The efficiencies introduced by these machines mean policyholder wait times are slashed by weeks or months.
Streamlined Processes
Insurers are able to improve customer satisfaction with seamless digital experiences. Internal and external processes are completely streamlined.
Cost Savings
These machines achieve precise damage assessments that lower repair and claim costs, helping improve cash flow in an industry that has been experiencing cost hikes in the past years.
Faster Claim Resolution
Insurers can minimise claim cycle times and related complaints. This frees up their customer service teams and provides further efficiencies and subsequent cost savings.
Climate Readiness
Insurers can be prepared as worsening weather events increase the frequency and severity of these kinds of claims.
What our National Operations Manager, Luke Hill says on the Partnership
“Our partnership with Hail.com represents a major step forward in our mission to provide faster, more reliable repair solutions for our clients,” says our National Operations Manager, Luke Hill.
“By embracing Hail.com’s advancements in 3D scanning technology, we’re setting a new industry standard that prioritises convenience, accuracy, and quality, while enabling AAMC to deploy our technical assessing resources more effectively. This partnership will benefit both our clients and their customers during peak periods of motor claims due to large hailstorm events.”
AAMC is pleased to take another step towards technological innovation, supporting our insurance clients to revolutionise how they handle claims.
The Future of Hail Damage Scoping in APAC
The new technology marks a new era in how hail damage is assessed and scoped for repair in the Asia Pacific market.
We believe this is just the beginning of technological advancements across the insurance and automotive repair industries. We’re excited to continue working with Hail.com to drive digital transformation in this sector.
This development won’t just benefit motorists but will support industries across the APAC region, with heavy vehicles and machinery spending more time on the job and less impacted by weather events.
